Propped up by a culture of fear, TSA has become a bureaucracy with too much power and little accountability.
Making pilots go through the security gates is just stoopid and utterly pointless. I honestly can not imagine any scenario that such a check would protect against. If the pilot wants to take over the plane they are piloting, they certainly do not need a hidden gun or knife or bottle of water to do it.

I personally don't want to fly. I don't have a fear of flying, I have a fear of some minimum wage security goon citing some crazy obscure or secret rule to delay or strip-search me.
